In agile transformations organisations usually try to achieve a better performance by creating a new way of working which is based on strong, self-empowered and flexible teams. When those agile systems start to ramp-up we often see conflicts with the prevailing leadership structures and the existing administrative systems. The consequence is often an agile organisation that is widely decoupled from the top management level where the “real business” is done.

In our presentation, we spotlight a real-world example of how an actual company successfully interconnected its agile organization with the strategic level of the enterprise. Leveraging concepts from the ‚SAFe Lean Portfolio Management‘ framework, we provide a detailed exploration of the practical steps taken. This serves as the foundation for discussing the broader concept of ‚Business Agility, demonstrating how it drives business success and offering insights that are directly applicable to other real-world scenarios.

DI Heinz Fürnschuß arbeitet seit 30 Jahren in der Entwicklung von Embedded Systems im industriellen Umfeld.
Nach dem Studium der Telematik und dem klassischen Karrierepfad vom SW-Entwickler über Projektleiter zum Gruppen- und Abteilungsleiter widmet er sich seit einigen Jahren der Organisationsentwicklung und dem Entwickeln effizienter Methoden für large scale R&D-Organisationen.
Als Manager für R&D Processes and Tools bei B&R Industrial Automation ist er zurzeit für die Einführung eines skalierten agilen Modells in der Produktentwicklung verantwortlich.
