Description
From my experience the value is probably not flowing in your organization. Over the past decade and half, I have seen a variety of organizations in drastically different industries and sizes ranging from 40 people to 130.000 people. All with their own definition of ‘fast’ delivery with ‘high’ quality and ‘meaningful impact’.
First we will establish why lead time is a valuable metric to track on portfolio level and not only in your development teams.
Furthermore we will view the effects on lead time through the lens of the three main recurring problems I have found in organizations from the past decade:
1. Fragmented Steering
2. Unrealistic Planning
3. Insuffiecient Collaboration
We will hear about examples of symptoms I have seen in organizations under the different problem areas; fragmented steering, unrealistic planning and insufficient collaboration alongside a story of how a small change opened up for a business opportunity worth ~€3.5M per year.
