If your company is heading for Agile at Scale, it definitely requires Self Organization at Scale! Organizations seeking to grow their Agile network are in dire need of empowering their workforce, and there is where Communities of Practice (CoP) take over.

During the past few years we have seen at Ericsson ICT Development Center Aachen Eurolab (Germany) several CoPs emerge and take over the responsibility for the evolution of Kaizen, T-Shape, DevOps, employees’ motivation… even operational aspects such as 5G research or security are moving forward with the support of CoPs.

In this talk we will present to you our hands-on experiences, we will provide you with practical tips how to nurture CoPs in your organisation, we will show you how they managed to revolutionize the way a multinational giant of the telecommunications world growths within the new Ways of Working!

Speaker Biography

Almudena Rodriguez Pardo, born in Bilbao (Spain), studied computer science at RWTH University Aachen (Germany) and started working for Ericsson in 1995. Almudena has a strong technical background as a developer, quality coordinator and technical market support engineer in different organizations within Ericsson ICT Development Center Eurolab (Germany). Since 2011, Almudena was strongly involved in the Agile transformation and DevOps deployment at Ericsson, and worked as an Agile and DevOps consultant for Ericsson customers.

She is a well-known public speaker with international reputation at Agile and DevOps conferences, where she has been invited at Agile Tour London, Scan Agile Helsinki, Agile Practitioners Tel Aviv, delivery of Things World Berlin, Agile Pep Minds Berlin, Conference Agile Spain, etc… Furthermore, she contributes to the Agile community with publications like InfoQ.

2017 Almudena joined the Agile company Improvement21, as Agility expert supporting organizations worldwide in their way to Agility and DevOps deployment.

Norma Acevedo was born in Saltillo (Mexico), For over 27 years Norma has been engaged as software developer, trainer, process engineer, maintenance engineer and Deployment Manager in Ericsson. She was also intensively involved in the Agile transformation at Ericsson ICT Center Aachen, acting as change agent, scrum master, DevOps practitioner, coach and consultant for Ericsson customers. Furthermore, as passionate Agilist, she was one of the main drivers for the Community of Practice strategy at Ericsson ICT Development Center Aachen. Currently she works as scrum master and cultural manager assistant in REWE Digital, the REWE Group provider of online solutions.
